Being a Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld Doll

November 26, 2018

I have been with Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld for about 3 months now, and I thought it was time for me to share my experience with this wonderful store, with you.

My relationship started with this Dunkeld Drybar when I attended their relaunch earlier this year, and I was blown away by how stunning, and homie the store was. How Sherri, the owner spoke of her staff, and how the staff spoke of her.

A couple of weeks later, I was so excited to receive a direct message on Instagram from Sherri herself. She said she remembers meeting me at her store relaunch, had seen me on social media, loved my vibe and asked if she could call me to discuss an opportunity that she had in mind for me. Fast Forward a little - I became an ambassador, alongside the fabulous Heather Hook - a dear friend of mine. She called me at the right time, as I was in discussions with another salon for a similar opportunity but when Sherri called, there was no way I could pass up on her proposal.

At SDD, they are technically my beauty sponsor. They make sure that if I am attending an event, I am dressed to the nines from top to tail. They mainly focus on my hair for events, and nails but I have been lucky enough to dabble in their other treatments and I am yet to be unimpressed by anything I have tried so far.

Over the past 3 months I have had a few ladies do my hair - they each are so incredibly special, and truly passionate about what they do, and the Drybar. Did you know that Dunkeld has 6 of the of the top 10 stylists and one of the top 10 nail technicians at The Sorbet awards of 2018? They truly do have the best of the best, the cream of the crop and I am the luckiest girl to be blessed with such expertise.

My favourite part of events these days, is getting my hair washed and blow waved at the Drybar. Each of the ladies in the washing station take the time to give their clients massages worth a million bucks and my hair quality feels like a million bucks since being at the Drybar. Their hair products give my hair just what it needs, and the ladies know exactly which products work for all my problems. So far I love the Pureology, Redken and Morrocon Oil ranges.

About 3 weeks ago Nicole (one of the main ladies who does my hair) suggested I do the botox treatment - My hair was feeling quite dry from colouring my hair the week before.

In order to maintain this healthy vibrant red, I have to take extra care of my hair. And boy did it do the trick. I don't think my hair has ever felt that silky, soft and strong. Nicole explained that this treatment was a mini Brazilian blow wave. It tamed all the frizz and moistured all the dryness. Let's just say sitting around with glad wrap wrapped around my head waiting for the treatment to set, was well worth the results.

I have had a few ladies do my nails, just to give them all a shot to see which lady is the best for my needs and I am completely spoilt for choice. Every lady who has done my nails is as good at the next. The conversation is always fabulous - We are always updating each other on our love lives and the latest gossip (I mean, what else do you do while getting your nails done). They are amazing at helping my indecisive self decide on which colour to do - I never leave disappointed. So far my favourite has been the bright orange.

For my nails, I prefer to do an acrylic overlay with gelish which works perfectly for my nail type. The acrylic helps with strength to allow my nails to grow, and the Gelish illiminates smudging due to my extreme lack of patience. If you are anything like me - this is the formula I would use. The Gelish dip is also really strong - similar to the acrylic consistency - I would give that a shot too.

Apart from the incredible service, the store is genuinely like a family. I have yet to see a lady without a  smile on her face, or happy to help wherever she can. I can't help but think that it is due to the mere fact that Sherri treats them like the queens they are. Another perk of booking your hair do at Dunkeld, or your mani/pedi is that you can enjoy a glass of bubbly (or a cappuccino - for that extra boost) While you enjoy your treatment.

And lastly, before you leave, don't forget to try the chews they have in the bowl at the reception desk. They are my fav! (I have to clear like 1000 wrappers out of my car every week).
