Let Your Body Do The Talking

June 14, 2018

Let me introduce to you Body Talk.

If you follow me, you should know by now that I face the daily battle of a little something called anxiety. It's not the worst thing in the world, because I owe a lot of my success to what my anxiety has prompted and motivated me to do, in order to avoid feeling anxiety, or regret.

However, I have taken certain measures to lessen the symptoms of my anxiety. Including therapy, and meds I take every night. Even though my psychologist is fabulous, and my meds are a life saver. I always felt that there was something more out there, to help me with my anxiety, and the rest life's baggage. I do an incredible amount of self-reflection. I make it my mission to know exactly what is causing either my anxiety, or sadness when things go wrong. I reflect heavily, to find the problem, whether it's me, or an outside party. Due to this, I found that I have been telling my psychologist my issues, and solving the problem in a session either before I even got to her, or without her saying a word in the session.

I always felt that there were things my subconscious, and body and maybe even the universe knew, that my conscious mind, or a psychologist wouldn't be able to tell me. I felt this way until I found Body Talk, and met my practitioner and now friend. Ally or Alessia.

Last year, I went for my first BodyTalk session, and I found myself crying for absolutely no reason. Ally had brought up things, that I never told her, and there was no way she could know. My session was incredible, and I had finally found a home in Body Talk. I left that session feeling incredibly exhausted, which Ally said was completely normal after such an intense session.

I have only been to 5-7 sessions of Body Talk and it has resolved so many life long issues, that I never knew could be resolved. Including family trauma, and a toxic long-term relationship. Before I continue with this. Let me give you a little more info, on what BodyTalk really is.

The definition on the website is as follows. Body Talk uses a Yes/No communication called neuromuscular biofeedback, which is similar to applied  kinesiology. By understanding that your body has an inherent knowledge of itself, the BodyTalk Practitioner is able to quickly and easily ask your body what communication circuits have become compromised and in which order these lines of communication need to be re-established for the fastest possible healing process to occur.

In other words, your body knows what is wrong, and it somehow tells your practitioner what is wrong, and how to fix it. BodyTalk looks at the whole person. Nothing is overlooked. Your emotional, physical and environmental aspects are studies. BodyTalk understands the profound influence the psychology of the body has on our health. Instead of focusing on the symptom, BodyTalk finds the underlying causes of an illness by addressing the whole-person and their whole-story.

I am not sure how it happens, many times I swear Ally is psychic, but I'm not sure that I believe in psychics, and that I'm quite weary of going to one (don't wanna tap into that whole vibe). I just know that Ally holds and moves my wrists, mumbles some words, asks me some questions, taps my head a few times, and my life makes sense again, and many of my problems have been solved - at the root of the problem.

BodyTalkers refocus your body’s natural healing response to establish better communication within the body. Ultimately, the bodymind knows best how to heal itself in a holistic way.

BodyTalk has given me a sense of confidence in my life again, and a sense of control. I am now empowered, knowing that no damage, or trauma is too deep, and that I am in the safest hands with Ally. Who in very short months has come to be very close, and one of the only people I can be my most vulnerable self with. I know she will never judge me, or use any of this against me.

Although my belief system is based on Christianity. I am spiritual to a certain extent, and my belief system is made up of many beliefs. Including that of Buddhism. I believe in love, and goodness. But I also love that I have a higher power to believe i

n and have faith. This gives me the most peace through life's trials and tribulations. I know alternative methods are frowned upon, and just like I don't like dabbling in clairvoyants or psychics, and some may disagree with my opinion here, But I believe that BodyTalk is a pure way of finding help and solace in this tough life we live, that I believe is getting tougher and tougher as each year goes by.
