A Match Made in Heaven - Sorbet Make Up

June 11, 2018

If you didn't know already, you do know now. Sorbet has launched a make-up line and I have been DYING to get my hands on it.

Last week, I attended the relaunch of the Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld store and managed to walk away with their Face First Foundation and I am absolutely In-Love.

I was specifically interested in this foundation because I had been using a bb cream for so long, but I was looking for a full coverage foundation that wasn't too heavy, and that wouldn't mess up my skin.

You can imagine how excited I was to see a foundation with such amazing benefits including:

1. Anti-aging properties - prevention is better than a cure

2. SPF 15 - Skin cancer is a real thing ladies and gents

3. Aaand it has a serum - My skin is usually dry, but in Winter it's like the Sahara dessert.

I am always nervous to try new face products, because you never know how it will affect your skin, or how it look and feel, especially after a long day or night out. Although, I was not disappointed with this foundation. It feels smooth when you put it on (Apply using a good quality make-up brush or a soft beauty blender) and it blends amazingly and leaves you with a finish that is flawless. I would however have a mattifying powder on hand for the left over shiny spots from the serum.

For me, this was a great step up from a bb cream. It still gives you security in knowing that your skin is being looked after while you go about your busy boss lady life.

Did I mention that all their products are locally produced?

or that a little birdy told me that no little bunnies were harmed in the making of this range. You know that's a winner for me!

Empowering SA and empowering the furbabies! What more could you want? Oh wait, empowering yourself! They have that covered too ;)

I can't wait to grow my Sorbet Make Up collection.

The next products I am looking to try out are (In order of Application):

Sorbet Prep & Poreless All-In-One Super Face Primer – We all know we need a smooth, pore-less canvas to start the art that is our make-up.

Airtime mousse - Cause WTF not? It is SPF 15 and looks like it'll feel light on my skin.

Sorbet Under Cover Undereye Concealer – I have this blue circle under my left eye, that would love to see the magic of this concealer disguise it.

You're Covered Concealer and Setting Powder - Conceal, Bake, Brighten

Blend & Blur Sponge - To ensure the concealer is blended to be smooth as butter.

Powderful stuff - Remember what I said about the Face First Foundation?

Shimmer & Glow Shimmer Bronzer – It's

winter, but who doesn't want a natural bronze glow throughout the year?

Contour me - What Would KimK Do?

Contouring blender sponge - Sculpt those cheekbones to perfection.

Glow & Tell Liquid Highlighter – Your look isn't complete, until those cheekbones look snatched.

What a cheek Blush Stamp - In Fiesta Flush and Fresh berry so I don't look ill.

Blur the line retractable eyeliner - Cause I don't have time to sharpen a pencil.

Take A Brow - Never underestimate the power of your eyebrows.

Lash Cheat Super Volume and Length Mascara - I could do with lashes to kill.

Stroke of Genius Precision Pen Eyeliner – may my wing' always be even and sharp AF.

It's a Fine Line Liquid Liner - Incase it doesn't work out between their Stroke of Genius eyeliner and I.

Eye to Eye Eyeshadow quad in Cocoa Crush - This quad palette has all the ingredients for the perfect bronze copper look.

Get Lippy Moisturising Lip Colour – I never wear lipstick because my lips are always dry, and I have a habit of biting them. Maybe the solution lies in this product.

- Actually I could give their whole lip collection a try (Get Glossy, Kisses, Lip Line-Up).

Literally ALL their brushes

Squeaky Clean Cleaner - To make sure those brushes and sponges are cleansed deeply!

Erase it Wipes - To make sure even this most waterproof liner is abolished

As I add these products to my make-up collection, I will chat about them on my Instagram and maybe Facebook, so please stay tuned. Please also feel free to ask any questions.

*More information on Sorbet Make Up

Sorbet Make Up was brought to you, because they decided decided to complete their beauty offering. Their make up range launched in selected Clicks stores and Sorbet Salons from 1 March 2018.

Sorbet is not new to the beauty world, in fact they have a long history of understanding women’s needs across all areas of beauty. From beauty services in salons, to products across skincare and body. They have worked hard to make you and your skin feel and look good.

But the missing piece to their beauty jigsaw was makeup, and after the success of their BB Cream and nail colour they took the hint and with the help of their skincare experts they set about creating a complete makeup range.

In creating this range they listened to their customers, and they realised that when it comes to makeup, there are some basic needs that get in the way of feeling good, like finding the right foundation shade...so they set about addressing these needs from the get go when they launched The Skin Project together with Clicks.

This nationwide project got Sorbet up close and personal with nearly 3000 women so that they could create a foundation range that would match all skin tones. They found that 28 shades were needed to offer a match for all, giving Sorbet one of the most extensive ranges in South Africa.

They have still however created a Foundation Match-Me service with Match-Me experts to help you find your perfect match

With the canvas sorted, next they worked to develop a range of products that would let you go about creating your own look. From their eyeliners to lipstick, to professional tools, and of course the products you need to take it all off again too,

they have made sure that their products work hard so you don’t have to.
